How to Develop and Execute your College GAMEplan

College GAMEplan outlines all the important steps you need to know.  It provides you with the tools and templates you need to begin and complete up to a four-year marketing plan for your son or daughter. 

The Calendar on College GAMEplan's "My GAMEplan" page provides you with a step by step guide to what you need to be doing and when you should be doing it.  Making sure that you don’t miss any important steps along the way, the My GAMEplan Calendar provides you with a “To-Do” list every month so you can take a pro-active role and stay on top of the college recruiting process.    

My GAMEplan also provides you with all the tools you need to develop, implement and execute your own GAMEplan.  With templates, letters, worksheets and other useful evaluation tools, College GAMEplan positions you to always be in control of the decision making process.  By the end of your child’s senior year in high school, you’ll rest secure in knowing that you have taken all facts into consideration and that your child is taking advantage of the very best college “match” for his or her unique set of academic and athletic skillsets.   

By committing yourself to follow your College GAMEplan and spending an average of less than one hour each month to implement and execute it, you’ll find that College GAMEplan will take all the stress out of the recruiting and college selection process.  And you’ll know that you have maximized every opportunity to generate the very best financial aid and scholarship package available. 

So exactly how does College GAMEplan work? 

Start by familiarizing yourself with the layout and content of our site.  Each page contains valuable information and links to other important sites to help you through the recruiting process.  Once you are comfortable navigating our site, click on the My Student Athlete tab located at the far left end of the banner heading at the top of this page.  My Student Athlete will describe the steps you'll need to take to set up your child's resume or Player Profile. 

Once complete, simply save the profile to your hard drive, then click on the My GAMEplan link (located immediately next to the My Student Athlete tab).  Here you'll find easy point and click tabs to My Calendar, My Calendar Archives (to retrieve previous month's instructions), and several letter templates identified by both sport and by topic.  Again, simply cut and paste from the templates to create your own letters, then paste them into your e-mail and attach the Player Profile.      

College GAMEplan is designed to help you market to college coaches that either you, your high school or your club coach knows.  However, our relationship with the College Coaches Online allows you to purchase a database of more than 20,000 college coaches if you prefer developing your own mailing campaign.  

Your My GAMEplan page also provides you with questions to ask college coaches once you have established contact with them; it teaches you when and how to follow up; it helps you plan college campus visits; and it helps you evaluate and compare each college that you will be considering.
